Paragon Power and Cat5 Simplicity™ for high density server racks and Cost-Effective KVM Scalability High Port-Density for Optimal Scalability Paragon 2-user, 42-port offers the highest port-density currently available in a Cat5-based KVM switch, providing access to 42 devices in a 1U form factor. In addition to representing a stand-alone Cat5 solution for environments with 2 users, this high port-density also greatly increases the scalability of Paragon enterprise solutions. For example, a configuration giving eight users access to 512 servers using an 8-user, 32-port Paragon switch requires the maximum 3-tier configuration. However, by deploying a multi-base, two-tier configuration, adding just four UMT242 units as a base tier, eight users can access an additional 160 servers with a relatively modest incremental investment, and still have the ability to add a third tier to access up to 1,960 servers if growth dictates. Paragon Compatibility The Paragon UMT242 Matrix Switching Unit supports the same Paragon User Station, CIMs and on-screen user interface as the rest of the Paragon family. It also supports all Paragon Ready™ products for management of all data center devices in a Paragon-centric environment, including Raritan's Z-Series™ and MasterConsole® MXU2 for high-density server access, ConsoleSwitch™ SCS232 for access to serial devices, and TeleReach™ for remote access over IP or dial-up modem.
